CNC Lathe Machinist for 2nd Shift 

 

We are seeking a full time 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist. A Successful candidate will effectively communicate with the CNC Supervisor to ensure timely completion of all work tickets.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. 
  • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. 
  • Select, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. 
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine setting or programmed control data. 
  • Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. 
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts to machine controls or control media as required. 
  • Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated. 
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated success in all functional areas within a fast-paced, technically focused manufacturing environment is essential. 
  • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations. 
  • Demonstrated success working in highly collaborative multi-function environment, with a track record of accomplishment.

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Lathe Machinist. 
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and written. 
  • Mathematical ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a must.
